With easy access to public transport, historical attractions along the Neva, and plenty of dining options nearby, the location couldn't be better. the room was spacious with modern amenities and a comfortable bed. the friendly staff went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable, and the breakfast selection was adequate. I also appreciated the free Wi-Fi and parking availability.
I did notice that some noise from the hallways could be heard in the room.

We have been offerred a comfotable and cosy room. We were pleased to be served by well experienced staff. There were delicios and various menu breakfasts. Also, we were in silent and relaxed atmosphere for all stay at the hotel. Thanks for your attendance, we are for sure about to be your guests while next visit to St. Petersburg. The Blatovs.
There was no hot running water while morning taking a shower. That's was very huge inconvenience and unpleasant surprise.

Great size rooms with comfortable beds. Conveniently located near public transportation and lots of food options nearby.
Rooms were not soundproof, so we could hear people talking in the hallways and adjacent rooms. The shower mixer was tricky and the bathroom lacked storage space.

The staff were very very friendly and helpful, making great efforts even if the English of some was poor. I was even allowed use the staff computer to send a semi urgent email. This sort of individual care and flexible home like atmosphere is a plus. The room was warm, quiet, clean, well serviced and the location was not too distant a walk to the bridge and from there the city proper. The hotel arranged airport transfers, the drivers of which were very good and had quality cars

Location was very convenient for visiting most tourist sites on foot. the staff was always friendly and willing to help us with anything we needed. the rooms were very comfortable and clean with all amenities you need.
The breakfast was only okay, the limited choice of food left us wanting more. the hotel entrance could be better presented, as it was not immediately inviting and you could easily miss it.

Location is central in a beautiful quiet street, will take you 25 min walking to Hermitage and Nevsky prospect though. Big light rooms.
No air-conditioning, rood lazy stuff, twice we had to wait outside as nobody would open the front door for us, especially annoying at 2:30 at night sitting on the stairs for 20 minutes:(( beds were uncomfortable, mattresses very thin, breakfast poor.

The front desk and kitchen staff were fabulous °° particularly victoria and maria. There was no question or request too complicated for them to handle. I would highly recommend this hotel. Breakfast was yummy. Mazybe just add some fresh fruit. The shower was not fantastic since the water did not drain properly. Besides that, everything was fantastic. Would recommend highly to others. Thanks to maria and victoria for everything.
The shower drain did not work. Fruits for breakfast.

Very cosy and comfortable private hotel. Located in the historical center of the city in the very well extant house of 1890. Staff shows famous Russian hospitality and professional competence. Metro station, as well as sushi, pizza, coffeshops and traditional cuisine restaurants in 5 min walk. This hotel will leave very warm impressions for a long time, despite sometimes very dank St.Petersburg weather.
If Shelfort has any miserable shortcomings, they are totally covered by the friendly and hospitable staff and the owner Mme. Irina Bykova.
